Wendy MacGregor is currently Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer of Feeding America.
In this role since 1996, MacGregor launched the first national branding effort for the organization, to more effectively engage the public in the fight against hunger in America. This effort has encompassed cause marketing, where Feeding America is the proud recipient of the 2010 CMF Golden Halo award, a multi-media psa campaign, that has received a Silver Addy, public relations, digital marketing/social media and network marketing. In addition, the new brand logo received The Good Design Award, for excellence in graphic design. All told, the brand has more than doubled awareness in the first year and has measurably increased public engagement in domestic hunger. Currently, Feeding America and its network of 203 member food banks, feeds 37 million Americans annually, including 14 million children, making it the leading hunger relief organization in the US.
MacGregor came to Feeding America with 20 years of marketing, advertising and branding experience with some of the world’s most prestigious brands, including McDonald’s, The Coca-Cola Company, Kraft(all while at Leo Burnett) and Hyatt Corporation. In recognition of her work while at Hyatt, MacGregor was named a “Top 50 Marketer” by Advertising Age in 2003. Highlights of her career include: global positioning development and product intros for Minute Maid Orange Juice and McDonald’s Extra Value Meals; extensive product concept development and rollout for a number of permanent and promotional menu items for McDonald’s and Kraft Salad Dressings; a cradle-to-college vision for McDonald’s Corporation to strengthen loyalty; the introduction of the industry’s first internet rate guarantee at Hyatt Corporation.
MacGregor holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin.
